What Is AuNaturel?
Here at AuNaturel, we have discovered the potential of the banana plant and its ability to revolutionize several industries. After taking note of the severity of period poverty, or the lack of access to menstrual hygiene products around the world, products for women's health is our first benchmark to hit. We will start with making biodegradable menstrual pad made from banana fiber. Ultimately, our goal is to transform industries like those of diapers and paper towels sustainably and with a focus on the triple bottom line- people, planet, profit.
Where We Start
Ghana has been uniquely identified as a country suffering from period poverty. By providing a targeted solution for women in Ghana, we can alleviate period poverty. Our initial goal is to reach the women in rural Ghana and eventually expand to cover the ~6 million women there who lack access to menstrual products.
The Future
Eventually, we hope to expand to all of Africa. In Africa, there are 33 countries that are classified as least-developed. In the next 10 years, we seek to reach all these girls who are living under the threat of period poverty.
